Why Choose Labbe for Interior Demolition

Most interior demolition in Calgary happens in homes built before 1990, where drywall mud, textured ceilings, flooring and insulation can contain asbestos. If asbestos is found, a Notice of Project must be filed with Alberta OHS, and removal can't start until 72 hours later. Our experience lets us plan for this from the first visit, so we schedule around it, keep downtime to a minimum and work efficiently once we start.

What sets us apart is how we leave the job. With over 1,000 completed projects behind us, we leave every space spotless, noticeably cleaner than your usual demo crew. We protect your floors when required, seal off the work area, and run air scrubbers under negative pressure so dust stays in the work area instead of spreading through your house.

Our Process

1. Site Visit & Quote

We look at the space, the age of the building and what's being removed. If the home was built before 1990, we arrange asbestos testing through our independent Certified Industrial Hygienist before any demolition starts. You get a clear quote covering demolition, disposal and any abatement needed.

2. Hazardous Materials First

If testing finds asbestos, we file a Notice of Project with Alberta OHS, and removal can start 72 hours later. Because we plan for this from the first visit, we schedule around the waiting period and keep downtime to a minimum. Our crew then removes the asbestos under proper containment before demolition begins. If nothing is found, we go straight to demolition.

3. Protection & Demolition

We install floor protection where required and seal the work area off from the rest of the house. Air scrubbers keep the sealed area under negative pressure, so dust is pulled in and filtered instead of drifting through your home. Then we remove materials in a controlled order. Plumbing and electrical should be safely disconnected first; we coordinate with your contractor on what stays and what goes.

4. Cleanup & Disposal

All debris is loaded out and disposed of properly. We leave the space spotless, noticeably cleaner than your usual demo crew, and ready for framing, plumbing, electrical or your restoration crew.
