Excavator & House Demolition in Calgary
Labbe Demolition & Abatements coordinates full house and excavator demolition in Calgary and surrounding communities. We remove the asbestos and hazardous materials first. Then we have demolition companies from our network compete for your teardown, pick the one best suited to the job, and handle the contracting for you. You deal with one company from the first site visit to a cleared lot.
Why Choose Labbe for House Demolition
In Calgary, a house can't come down until its asbestos has been dealt with. The City asks for the asbestos assessment and a clearance letter confirming the materials were properly removed. That step is where most demolition projects get delayed, and it's the step we specialize in.
We handle the abatement ourselves, then manage the demolition through our network of excavator demolition companies. You get one schedule and one point of contact instead of juggling an abatement company, several demolition quotes and the paperwork in between.
- Asbestos abatement and teardown coordinated by one company
- Clearance documentation ready for your demolition permit
- A network of excavator demolition companies competing for your job
- Debris hauling and lot clearing
- WCB coverage, $5M general liability and $5M environmental liability

How We Get You the Best Price and the Right Crew
Over the years we've built strong relationships with excavator demolition companies around Calgary. Instead of you calling around for quotes, we send your project to the companies best suited to it and have them compete for the work.
Not every demolition company is right for every job. A tight infill lot, a house close to the neighbours, an acreage outbuilding and a fire-damaged home each call for different equipment and experience. Our expertise means we know which crews handle each type of project well.
We then take care of the contracting for you: scheduling, coordinating the teardown with our abatement work, and making sure the job is done right. You get a competitive price without the legwork.

Our Process
1. Site Visit & Testing
We review the property, access, neighbouring structures and your build plans. Our independent Certified Industrial Hygienist samples suspect materials and an accredited lab confirms whether asbestos is present.
2. Asbestos Abatement & Clearance
If asbestos is found, we file a Notice of Project with Alberta OHS, and removal can start 72 hours later. Our experience lets us plan around that wait so your schedule keeps moving. We then remove the asbestos under containment and leave the house clean for the next step. Once the hygienist confirms the area is clear, you receive the documentation the City needs for your demolition permit.
3. Demolition Pricing, Utilities & Permit
While abatement is underway, we send your project to the demolition companies in our network and have them compete for it. We recommend the best fit for your project and take care of the contract. Gas, power, water and other services must be disconnected before demolition. We help you line up the disconnects and the paperwork so the permit isn't held up. The City won't let a building come down until the permit is issued.
4. Excavator Demolition
The demolition company selected for your project brings the structure down with excavators in a controlled sequence, protecting neighbouring properties, fences and trees. We stay your point of contact throughout.
5. Hauling & Site Clearing
Debris is sorted, loaded and hauled away for proper disposal, and the lot is left clear for your builder.
